West Edmonton Volkswagen Tariff Update:  We are committed to provide the latest news on how tariffs could impact your purchase of a new or used vehicle and to update this information as it changes

Q. Have prices of our vehicles changed as a result of the tariff announcement?

Prices have NOT currently changed on our new or used vehicles following any recent tariff announcements.   

FAQ.  The U.S. Administration has announced a 25% on automobiles entering the US from other countries with certain exemptions that respect the current North American Trade Agreement (CUSMA). 

FAQ. The Canadian government has responded with retaliatory tariff announcements on vehicles entering Canada from the US, but has yet to provide the specific details of these tariffs or exactly when they will take effect.

FAQ: Most of the new vehicles we sell are assembled in Mexico or Europe and will not be affected by either tariff announcement.

FAQ: A small number of our new models are assembled in the U.S. and may be affected by the Canadian Government announcements, but these vehicles are assembled with parts content that originates in either Canada or Mexico (and therefore falls under the North American Trade Agreement (CUSMA)) which will reduce the impact of these tariffs as they are applied

Q. Will our vehicle prices rise in the future?

Prices of certain vehicles may increase in the weeks and months ahead as the impact of these tariff announcements is felt throughout the supply chain.

If you are considering a new or used vehicle purchase or upgrade in the short to medium time frame we highly recommend that you consider acting now while we have inventory available that has not yet been impacted by these tariffs and before these tariff announcements have any chance to impact the supply chain and prices of either new or pre-owned vehicles
